Buggtti Calibier’s design concept was first
unveiled to the public two years ago. It had been expected to publish in 2011,
while the latest reports announce the Galibier has been altered in that the
original concept been thought not enough by Durheimer. Another reason for its
delay is the potential image of launching such an extravagant vehicle in this
time of eco-consciousness.
Additionally, revealing plans for the
extravagant--and not likely profitable, despite the halo image and
stratospheric price--Galbier could derail the confidence of investors. After
all, the Royale was a flop during its time, coming out just prior to the
depression of the 1930s, and Bugatti would also be wary of the mistakes made by
Daimler and its waning Maybach brand.
Durheimer, the new boss of Bentley and Bugatti said that he would suggest they
continue development, but there would be some extraordinary changes from the
original concept. The design would be a little different, especially from the
B-pillar back, the interior room and ergonomics, the ingress and regress to the rear
seats would be improved, the car would be a little longer,
and the power of the engine would be at least four
figures.
The official says there will be a
remarkable change in Bugatti Galibier. The changes reportedly come out of
feedback from current Veyron owners, half of whom have reportedly seen and sat
in the Galibier concept car already. As a result, Durheimer has been said:’’the
project has entered the second half of the design phase now, but the finished
product will still bear more than a passing resemblance to the show car
pictured above.’’
The production Bugatti Galibie, whose name
is still unconfirmed is said to be unveiled by 2013 and will be priced about
$2.3 million at the current rates. For some people who love racing, they can
wait for the Bugatti’s rebut.
